On March 5, 1979, when my life was spiraling out of control, moving along a downward path of ‘gangs and guns’, God, in His wisdom and power saved me. So powerful was this life-changing experience that I had a deep desire for the things of God. I read my Bible every day, every night and cried myself to bed each night for many days. I slowly detached myself from the gang I was with even though they threatened to kill me. God’s calling on my life to serve Him in a full-time capacity was unmistakable and so I quitted my full-time job in December of that same year and in January 1980 began the Diploma in Biblical Studies at Midland Bible Institute. A few years later, I followed up with a Bachelor in Theology from Carver Bible College. In 1988, I was commended to full-time ministry by my home assembly, and a few years later I was invited to serve as a member of the Board of Elders. I graduated from the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology, with a M. A. in Caribbean Ministries in May 1992 and in June I assumed the position as Managing Director for Back to the Bible (Jamaica and the Caribbean) where I served for ten years before returning to my home assembly to continue serving in a full-time capacity. During all these years, just seeing God’s hand on my life was confirmation that I was in the will of God. I became a regular speaker at camps and conferences and shared in the preaching and teaching of the word at my local assembly as well as at other assemblies in the capital, Kingston and rural Jamaica. God has continued to show me that what He wants to do in and through me is not limited to my home church but that He wants to use me to expand His Church. In 2016 God called me to a new vineyard and since then I have been serving in the capacity as elder-pastor at Cambria Heights Gospel Chapel. God is faithful – has been faithful over the years, despite my many failings. I remain His obedient servant, attuned to His voice, ready and willing to serve wherever He calls me to.
